What happens when you send a request

1. Your description reaches us. Nothing is shared at this point, and nothing is automatic.
2. We check whether an independent professional is under agreement for your area.
3. If there is, your request is passed to them so they can contact you directly. Whether they take it on is their decision, not ours.
4. If there is not — which today is the case for 5 of 5 territories — we tell you, and your details go no further.

You may hear from an independent generator company, not from us. We are not party to what you agree with them, and we do not set their prices, their schedule or their scope.

How we verify professionals — and what that does not cover

We confirm that a company exists as a legal entity, that it holds the licence or registration its work requires where a public register makes that checkable, and that it agrees in writing to how requests are handled. We record the date each check was made, because a licence is true on a date rather than forever.

That is the whole of it.We do not inspect anyone's work, supervise installations, test workmanship, run background checks on employees, or verify insurance beyond what a company provides. A professional appearing here is not endorsed by us and is not our agent. No placement is bought — a company cannot pay to appear here, and we would rather list nobody than list a company we could not check.

Which is why the honest advice is to run your own checks anyway. What you can actually verify about an installer sets out the ones worth doing, most of which take minutes and none of which depend on us.

What to have ready

None of this is required, and a request without it is still fine. It exists because the quality of the first conversation tracks the quality of what you can describe.

What you are trying to back up

Whole property, or specific circuits you cannot be without. This changes the system, the price and who is even a candidate.

Your electrical panel's rating, if you can read it

It is printed on the main breaker. It is the first thing an installer asks and the first thing that constrains the answer.

What fuel is already at the property

Natural gas at the meter, an existing propane tank, or neither. Fuel availability decides more of the design than most homeowners expect.

Roughly where the equipment could go

Clearances and exhaust rule out more locations than people assume, so a candidate spot is a useful starting point rather than a decision.

Any proposals you already hold

If you are comparing rather than starting, say so. It changes the conversation from selling to checking.
