Request a standby generator quote — Houston area, TX
Describe your standby generator project once. Where we have someone covering your area, we pass qualifying requests to independent generator professionals. Read the next section before you spend time on the form.
What happens to your request — read this first
We do not yet have a generator professional under agreement for the Houston territory. We are building that coverage area by area. If we have nobody covering your area when your request arrives, your details are not shared with anyone, and we will tell you rather than leave you waiting.
Sending a request is still worth your time for one reason, stated plainly: it is how we show a local company there is real work here. It is not a booking, it is not a quote, and it does not put anyone on their way to your property.
Work we route in this territory
- Standby generator installation
- Whole-home generator installation
- Replacing an existing generator
- Generator repair
- Generator service and maintenance
Which requests we treat as Houston
We route a request to the Houston territory when the property is in one of these Texas counties:
- Harris County
- Fort Bend County
- Montgomery County
- Galveston County
- Brazoria County
That is our routing rule, not a description of where Houston begins and ends, and it is not a coverage promise. If your property sits just outside it, send the request anyway and say where you are — the boundary is ours to adjust, and the exact area any one professional covers is agreed with them directly.
What a generator professional will ask you
- Whether you want the whole house backed up or selected circuits.
- What fuel is available at the property — natural gas, propane or diesel.
- Where the unit and the transfer switch could go, and how far that is from your panel.
- Your electrical panel's size and condition.
- If you already own a generator: the brand, and what it is doing wrong.
The handbook works through these in detail, and nothing on those pages changes by metro: whole-home versus essential circuits, choosing a fuel, what drives the cost of a project and permits, inspections and approvals. Whether a permit is required at your property is a question only your local authority can answer, and we do not guess at it here.
Tell us about your project
Generator Handbook is an independent information resource. We do not install, repair or warrant generators. Requests may be shared with independent generator professionals so they can respond. Coverage varies by area and submitting a request does not guarantee a match, a quote, or a price.
